Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by Brookfield Renewable Partners and Engie. The company's ownership stake in the project stands as 75% and 25% respectively.

Ffestiniog is a pumped storage project. The net head of the project will be 296m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 4 in number. The penstock length will be 213m. The penstock diameter will be 2.3m.

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 1963.

Contractors involved

Andritz Hydro will be the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The project consists of 4 units of Francis turbines, each with 90MW nameplate capacity.

The electric generators for the project will be procured from Andritz Hydro.
