Description

The project was developed by Belgian Eco Energy. Belgian Eco Energy and Equitix are currently owning the project.

The project generates 160GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 50,000 households, offsetting 285,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Gentse Biomass Power Project is a combined heat and power (CHP) project. Wood waste which is a kind of wood by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.

Elecnor was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the biopower project.

Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor is the O&M contractor for the project for a period of 15 years.
