Description
The project is being developed by Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power. NLC India and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51% and 49% respectively.
It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be coal. In case of shortage of coal the plant will run on Heavy Fuel Oil/Light Diesel Oil. The fuel will be procured from Pachwara South Coal, Talabira II and III mines.
The project cost is expected to be around $2,185.51m.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2017. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by September 2023.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to Uttar Pradesh Power under a power purchase agreement. The offtake capacity is expected to be 1,843.68MW.
