Description

The project was developed by SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction and is currently owned by Cairo Electricity Production.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant that is used for Baseload. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Light Fuel Oil.

Development status

The project got commissioned in May 2014.

The power generated from the project is sold to Egyptian Electricity Transmission under a power purchase agreement.
