Description

The project was developed by Babcock & Wilcox Volund. Balfour Beatty and Urbaser are currently owning the project.

The project generates 116GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 25,000 households, offsetting 40,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The process of combustion has been adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Industrial waste and municipal solid waste are used as a feedstock to power the project.
