Description

The project is being developed by Green Power Morocco 1. The project is co-owned by AMEA Power and GreenPower Morocco, with their respective ownership stake of 50% each.

GPM1 Solar PV Power Project is a ground-mounted solar project which is planned over 75 hectares.

The project is expected to generate 66,149MWh electricity and supply enough clean energy to power 19,200 households. The project is expected to offset 39,888t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is expected to be around $37m.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2022. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2023.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Amendis under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years. The offtake capacity is expected to be 34MW.

Contractors involved

Powerchina Huadong Engineering is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

GreenPower Morocco will be the supplier of the PV modules for the solar power project. The company is expected to install 91,000 modules at the site.
