The project is being developed by North Light Energy and is currently owned by DE Shaw Renewable Investments with a stake of 100%.
Gravel Pit II Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is planned over 568 acres.
The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 18,500 households. The project cost is expected to be around $50.5m.
Development status
Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2023.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to The Narragansett Electric under a power purchase agreement. The power will be sold at the rate of $0.053kWh for a period of 20 years, starting from 2023. The capacity to be procured is 50MW.
