Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by Gunsan Bioenergy.

The project is expected to generate 1,251GWh electricity and supply enough clean energy to power 260,000 households. The project is expected to offset 810,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The process of combustion will be adopted in this project to release the stored energy from the feed. Wood pellets which is a kind of wood by-product will be used as a feedstock to power the project.

The project consists of 2 turbines, each with 100MW nameplate capacity.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2017. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2025.
