Description

The project is being developed by Bharat Heavy Electricals and is currently owned by Punjab State Power with a stake of 100%.

It is a Steam Turbine power plant that will be used for Baseload. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be coal. In case of shortage of coal the plant will run on Fuel Oil and High Speed Diesel. The fuel will be procured from Pachwara coal block in Jharkhand and Central Coalfields Limited.

The project will generate 3,562MWh of electricity.

Development status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in December 1997.
