Description

The project was developed by Guizhou Wujiang Hydropower Development. China Huadian and Guizhou Provincial Government are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51% and 49% respectively.

Hongjiadu is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 4,947 million cubic meter. The project generated 1,594 GWh of electricity.

The project has 3 electric generators installed at the site. The generator capacity is 200 MVA.

The project construction commenced in 2000 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2004.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to China Southern Power Grid under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors involved

Voith Hydro Shanghai was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of francis turbines, each with 200MW nameplate capacity.
