The project was developed by Forces Motrices Hongrin-Leman. Romande Energie Commerce, Alpiq Holding, Groupe E and City of Lausanne are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 41.14%, 39.29%, 13.14% and 6.43% respectively.
Hongrin is a pumped storage project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 52 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 878m. The project generated 520 GWh of electricity.
