Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by Jamshoro Power. The company has a stake of 100%.
It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be sub-bituminous. In case of shortage of sub-bituminous the plant will run on Lignite. The fuel will be procured from Block-II of Thar Coalfield.
The project will generate 9,030,627.936MWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $1,637m.

The project construction is expected to commence from 2019. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by December 2023.

Harbin Electric International and Siemens are expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the coal fired power project.
