Description
The project was developed by Jimah East Power Sdn. Tenaga Nasional, Mitsui and The Chugoku Electric Power are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 70%, 15% and 15% respectively.
It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is coal. In case of shortage of coal the plant can also run on Light Fuel Oil. The fuel is procured from TNB Fuel Service Sdn. Bhd..
The project cost is $2,608.4m.
Development status
The project got commissioned in August 2019.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Tenaga Nasional under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years.
Contractors involved
Hyundai Engineering, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, IHI and Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the coal fired power project.
Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions was selected as the turbine supplier for the Coal fired project. The company provided 2 steam turbines, each with 1,000MW nameplate capacity.
