Description

The project was developed by China Gezhouba Group and Yalongjiang Hydropower Development. SDIC Electric Power and Sichuan Chuantou Energy are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 52% and 48% respectively.

Jinping I is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 7,760 million cubic meter. The project generated 16,620 GWh of electricity.

Development status

The project construction commenced in 2005 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2013.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to State Grid Corporation of China under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors involved

Harbin Electric Power Equipment was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The project consists of 6 units of Francis turbines, each with 600MW nameplate capacity.

The electric generators for the project were procured from Harbin Electric Power Equipment.
