The project was developed by Amman Asia Electric Power. The project is currently owned by Korea Electric Power with a stake of 60%, Mitsubishi and Wartsila Development & Financial Services.

It is a Internal Combustion power plant that is used for Baseload. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is heavy fuel oil. In case of shortage of heavy fuel oil the plant can also run on Natural Gas.
