Description

The project is currently owned by Ministry of Electricity, Iraq with a stake of 100%.

It is a Internal Combustion power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is heavy fuel oil. In case of shortage of heavy fuel oil the plant can also run on Distillate Fuel oil.

The project cost is $228.658m.

STX was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the oil fired power project.

MAN Energy Solutions was selected as the engine supplier for the Oil fired project. The company provided 72 units of 18V28/32S engines, each with 4MW nameplate capacity.

STX is the O&M contractor for thermal power project. The operation and maintenance contract commenced from 2012, for a period of one year.
