Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by Lakdhanavi. The company has a stake of 100%.
It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be diesel. In case of shortage of diesel the plant will run on Liquefied Natural Gas.
The project cost is expected to be around $277.731m.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2023. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to Ceylon Electricity Board under a power purchase agreement.
