Description

The project was developed by Acwa Power, Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy and UPC Renewables. The project is currently owned by Acwa Power with a stake of 51%.

The project generates 370GWh electricity thereby offsetting 144,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The Tubular Steel towers installed at the project site are 80m high.

Development status

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in June 2018.

Power purchase agreement

Asment Temara, Ciments de l’atlas, Holcim Morocco and Office National de l'Electricite et de l'Eau Potable are the power offtakers from the project.

Contractors involved

Vestas Wind Systems was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

Vestas Wind Systems was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 40 units of V90-3.0 MW turbines, each with 3MW nameplate capacity.

The First National Operation & Maintenance and Vestas Wind Systems were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
