Description

The project is being developed by Genex Power. Genex Power and Electric Power Development are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 92.3% and 7.7% respectively.

Kidston Pumped Storage Hydropower Project is a pumped storage project. The gross head of the project will be 218m. The project is expected to generate 2,000 GWh of electricity.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2021. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.

The power generated from the project will be sold to EnergyAustralia under a power purchase agreement for a period of 30 years.
