Description

The project was developed by Aria Energy and DTE Biomass Energy. The project is currently owned by Sacramento County of Dpt Waste.

The process of landfill has been adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Landfill gas is used as a feedstock to power the project.

The power generated from the project is sold to Sacramento Municipal Utility District under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years.

Kiefer Landfill Facility (Kiefer Landfill Facility Phase II) is equipped with Caterpillar turbines.
