Description

The project was developed by Avant Energy S De RL De CV and Grupo Gransolar. The project is currently owned by Balam Fund.

La Laguna Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 85 hectares.

The project generates 84GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 25,000 households, offsetting 50,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $77.567m.

The project construction commenced in 2017 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in June 2018.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Farmaceutica de Chiapas SAPI de CV under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors involved

Grupo Gransolar was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

Canadian Solar was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company installed 108,314 modules at the site.

Gamesa Electric supplied 14 inverters to the project site.

The project is utilising single axis trackers supplied by PVHardware.
