Description
The project was developed by Lages Bioenergetica. Engie and Others are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 68.71% and 31.29% respectively.
The project generates 217GWh of electricity.
The process of combustion has been adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Wood chips which is a kind of wood by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.

Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Centrais Eletricas de Santa Catarina under a power purchase agreement for a period of 13 years. The contracted capacity is 22MW.

AREVA Koblitz was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the biopower project.
GE Power was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the project. The company provided 1 unit of Controlled Steam Extraction turbine with 28MW nameplate capacity.
Dedini supplied steam boiler for the project. The boiler installed at the site has a capacity of 120TPH. The temperature witnessed inside the boiler is around 495Degree Celsius. The steam is pressurized inside the boiler at 65bar.GE Power supplied the electric generator for the project.
