Description
The project was developed by Intikon Energy and SolarReserve. GCL Technology Holdings, Intikon Energy, Kensani Capital, Old Mutual Life Assurance Co (South Africa) and SolarReserve are currently owning the project.
Letsatsi Power Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 300 hectares.
The project generates 143,542MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 36,849 households, offsetting 94,409t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
Development status
The project construction commenced in 2013 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in May 2014.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Eskom Holdings SOC under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years. The contracted capacity is 75MW.

Contractors involved
Cobra Gestion De Infraestructuras SLU, Grupo Gransolar, Kensani Capital, Schneider Electric and Siemens were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.
Hanwha Solutions was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company provided 280,000 modules each with 270W of nameplate capacity.
Siemens supplied its SINVERT PVS2000 inverters to the project site.
The project is utilising trackers supplied by PiA Solar.
Cobra Gestion De Infraestructuras SLU, Grupo Gransolar and Siemens were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
