Description
Magnon Green Energy and EDF Renewables are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 90% and 10% respectively.
The project generates 190GWh electricity thereby offsetting 110,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
The process of combustion has been adopted in this project to release the stored energy from the feed. Olive waste which is a kind of agricultural by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.
Contractors involved
Turbomach was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the biopower project.
Solar Turbines was selected as the gas turbine supplier for the project. The company supplied Titan 130 model turbines for the project.
Turbomach is the O&M contractor for the project for a period of 20 years.
