Description
The project is being developed by Enersyst and Pennant Walters (Maesgwyn). Enersyst and InfraRed Capital Partners are currently owning the project.
The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 18,000 households.
Maesgwyn (Maesgwyn Wind Farm - Phase III) consists of 3 turbines with 2.5MW nameplate capacity.
The Maesgwyn (Maesgwyn Wind Farm - Phase I), will have 70m high towers.
The Maesgwyn (Maesgwyn Wind Farm - Phase II), will have 80m high towers.
Development status
Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in April 2011.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the Maesgwyn (Maesgwyn Wind Farm - Phase II) will be sold to Statkraft UK under a power purchase agreement.
Contractors involved
Maesgwyn (Maesgwyn Wind Farm - Phase I) will be equipped with GE Renewable Energy ECO 80 2.0 MW turbines. The phase consists of 13 turbines with 2MW nameplate capacity.
Maesgwyn (Maesgwyn Wind Farm - Phase II) will be equipped with Vensys Energy turbine. The phase consists of 1 turbine with 2.5MW nameplate capacity.
GE Renewable Energy and Vensys Energy are expected to be contracted for rendering of operations & maintenance services for the project.
