Description

The project is being developed by Copperbelt Energy, Societe Nationale d'Electricite and ZESCO. The project is co-owned by Societe Nationale d'Electricite and ZESCO, with their respective ownership stake of 50% each.

Mambilima is a run-of-river project. The net head of the project will be 29m. The project is expected to generate 548.5 GWh of electricity.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2027. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2030.
