The project is developed and owned by Hive Energy and Shanghai Electric Group. The owners have 50% stake in the project respectively.

Mariel Free Zone Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 118 hectares.

The project generates 118MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 10,500 households.

The project consists of 300,000 modules, each with 325W nameplate capacity.

The project construction commenced in 2019 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2021.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Union Electrica de Cuba under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years. The contracted capacity is 50MW.
