The project is being developed by STEAG State Power. Aboitiz Power, STEAG and La Filipina Uy Gongco are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 69.4%, 15.6% and 15% respectively.
It is a Steam Turbine power plant that will be used for Baseload.

Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the Mindanao Power Plant (Mindanao Power Plant Unit I) will be sold to National Power under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years.
The power generated from the Mindanao Power Plant (Mindanao Power Plant Unit II) will be sold to National Power under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years.
