Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by General Electricity Company Of Libya. The company has a stake of 100%.
It is a Gas Turbine power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant will run on Light Fuel Oil. The fuel will be procured from National Oil Corporation (NOC).
Development status
Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2023.
Contractors involved
ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi and Siemens Energy are expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the dual-fuel fired power project.
Siemens Energy will be the turbine supplier for the Dual-Fuel fired project. The company is expected to provide 2 units of SGT5-PAC 4000F gas turbines, each with 320MW nameplate capacity.
General Electricity Company Of Libya and Siemens Energy are expected to be contracted for rendering of operations & maintenance services for the project.
