The project was developed by Abu Dhabi Future Energy, Acwa Power, EDF Renewables, First Solar, Fotowatio Renewable Ventures, Grupo Gransolar and TSK Solar. Abu Dhabi Future Energy, Acwa Power Renewable Energy Holding, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and EDF Renewables are currently owning the project.

The power generated from the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park (Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park - 2) is sold to Dubai Electricity and Water Authority under a power purchase agreement.
