Description

The project was developed by Bas and WVG Energy. The project is currently owned by Corporacion Multi Inversiones with a stake of 100%.

Monte Plata-WCG Energy Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 75 hectares.

The project generates 110,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 80,000 households, offsetting 50,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $75m.

Development status

The project construction commenced in 2018 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in November 2019.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Corporacion Dominicana de Empresas Electricas Estatales under a power purchase agreement from 2019. The contracted capacity is 50MW.

Contractors involved

Dominion Energy was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

Risen Energy was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company installed 200,694 modules at the site.

Gamesa Electric supplied its PV 2X Series inverters to the project site.

Dominion Energy is the O&M contractor for the solar PV power project for a period of 20 years.
