Mumias Biomass Power Plant (Mumias Biomass Power Plant Unit I) consists of 2 turbines with 2.5MW nameplate capacity.
Mumias Biomass Power Plant (Mumias Biomass Power Plant Unit II) consists of 1 turbine with 7MW nameplate capacity.
Mumias Biomass Power Plant (Mumias Biomass Power Plant Unit III) consists of 1 unit of Extraction Condensing Turbine turbine with 25MW nameplate capacity.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Kenya Power and Lighting under a power purchase agreement.
Contractors involved
ISGEC Heavy Engineering supplied steam boiler for the project. The boiler installed at the site has a capacity of 170TPH.The temperature witnessed inside the boiler is around 515°C.
