Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by Meghalaya Energy.

Myntdu Leshka II is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 2.93 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project will be 274m and 233.57m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 1 in number. The penstock length will be 578m. The penstock diameter will be 4.6m. The project is expected to generate 737.29 MWh of electricity.

The hydro power project consists of 3 turbines, each with 70MW nameplate capacity.

The nameplate capacity of electric generator(s) to be installed at the project site is 80 MVA.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2024. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2027.
