Description
The project is being developed by Alten Energias Renovables, Electricidade De Mozambique EP and Niassa Energia Solar. Electricidade De Mozambique EP and Alten Energias Renovables are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 85% and 15% respectively.
Niassa Energia Solar Project is a ground-mounted solar project.
The project is expected to generate 79,602MWh electricity and supply enough clean energy to power 166,000 households. The project cost is expected to be around $45m.
The solar power project consists of 117,180 modules, each with 330W nameplate capacity.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2023. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to Electricidade De Mozambique EP under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years.
