Description

The project was developed by Imperial Valley Solar Company 1 and is currently owned by Imperial Irrigation District with a stake of 100%.

Niland- Imperial Valley Solar Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 123 acres.

The project generates 46,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 14,000 households, offsetting 20,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project construction commenced in 2010 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in May 2012.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Imperial Irrigation District under a power purchase agreement from 2012. The contracted capacity is 23MW.

Contractors involved

Wuxi Suntech Power was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company provided 100,000 modules each with 280W of nameplate capacity.

Schneider Electric supplied 46 of its GT500-MVX inverters to the project site.

The mounting systems have been supplied by RBI Solar for the project.

SunPeak Solar is the O&M contractor for the solar PV power project.
