Description
The project was developed by Atacama Solar and is currently owned by Sonnedix Power Holdings.
Parque Atacama Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 450 hectares.
The project generates 470GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 100,000 households, offsetting 200,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The project construction commenced in 2019 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in January 2021.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to AES Andes under a power purchase agreement for a period of 10 years.

Metka EGN was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.
Jinko Solar was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company installed 500,000 modules at the site.
Power Electronics Espana supplied 48 inverters to the project site.
The project is utilising trackers supplied by NEXTracker.
Metka EGN is the O&M contractor for the solar PV power project for a period of 2 years.
