Description

The project is being developed by NHPC and Vidhyut Utpadan. These companies also have ownership stakes in the project.

Phukot Karnali is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project will be 180m and 158.7m respectively. The penstock length will be 570m. The project is expected to generate 2,448 GWh of electricity.

The hydro power project consists of 6 turbines, each with 79MW nameplate capacity.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2021. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2025.
