Description

The project was developed by Engie and is currently owned by Enea Elektrownia Polaniec with a stake of 100%.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 600,000 households, offsetting 1,200,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The process of combustion has been adopted in this project to release the stored energy from the feed. Agricultural by-product and wood by-product are used as a feedstock to power the project.

The project got commissioned in November 2012.

Contractors involved

GE Power was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the project. The company provided 1 turbine with 225MW nameplate capacity.

Sumitomo SHI FW Energia supplied steam boiler for the project. The boiler installed at the site has a capacity of 569TPH. The temperature witnessed inside the boiler is around 535Degree Celsius. The steam is pressurized inside the boiler at 127.5bar.
