Description

The project is being developed by Proton Energy and Siemens Energy. The project is currently owned by Proton Energy with a stake of 100%.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The fuel will be procured from Seplat Petroleum Development Company,Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd,TotalEnergies (EP) Nigeria,Nigerian Agip Oil Company Limited,Gas Aggregation Company Nigeria Limited.

The project will emit 734,042t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2025.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.

Contractors involved

China Machinery Engineering is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the gas fired power project.

Proton Delta Sunrise Project (Proton Delta Sunrise Project Phase I) will be equipped with Siemens Energy SGT-800 gas turbines. The phase consists of 3 gas turbines with 47MW nameplate capacity.
