Description

The project is being developed by Shenzhen Energy Group and Sinohydro. The project is currently owned by Kumul Consolidated Holdings.

Ramu 2 is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project will be 570m and 516m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 2 in number. The penstock diameter will be 2.75m.

The hydro power project consists of 3 turbines, each with 61MW nameplate capacity.

The project has 3 electric generators that will be installed at the project site.

Development status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2024.

PNG Power and Power Construction Corporation of China are expected to be the power offtakers from the project.
