Description

The project was developed by Ras Laffan Power. Qatar Electricity & Water Co QPSC, Gulf Investment and QatarEnergy are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 80%, 10% and 10% respectively.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The fuel is procured from Qatar Petroleum.

The project generated 3,805,940MWh of electricity.

Development status

The project got commissioned in December 2003.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Qatar General Electricity and Water under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years.

Enelpower and Fisia Italimpianti were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the gas fired power project.

The Gas fired project have been supplied by Franco Tosi Meccanica and GE Power.
