Description

Qatar Electricity & Water Co QPSC, Engie, QatarEnergy, Mitsui, JERA and Shikoku Electric Power are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 45%, 20%, 15%, 10%, 5% and 5% respectively.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The fuel is procured from Qatar Energy.

The project generated 7,883,190MWh of electricity.

Development status

The project got commissioned in May 2011.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Qatar General Electricity and Water under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years.

Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Mitsui and Sidem were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the gas fired power project.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company provided 8 units of M701F3 gas turbines, each with 265.79MW nameplate capacity.
