Description

The project was developed by Acciona Energia Mexico and is currently owned by Zuma Energia S.A. de.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 1,000,000 households, offsetting 739,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $725m.

The project has 120m high towers.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Comision Federal de Electricidad under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years, starting from 2019.

Acciona Energia Mexico was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

Vestas Wind Systems was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 123 units of V136-3.45MW turbines, each with 3.45MW nameplate capacity.

Vestas Wind Systems is the O&M contractor for the wind power project. The operation and maintenance contract commenced from 2019, for a period of 15 years.
