Description
The project is currently owned by NamPower.
The hydro reservoir capacity is 2,600 million cubic meter. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 4 in number. The penstock diameter is 3.6m.

Ruacana (Ruacana (I to III Units)) is equipped with Andritz Hydro francis turbines. The phase consists of 3 turbines with 82MW nameplate capacity.
Ruacana (Ruacana (IV Unit)) is equipped with Andritz Hydro francis turbine. The phase consists of 1 turbine with 92MW nameplate capacity.
GE Renewable Energy supplied 1 electric generator for the Ruacana (Ruacana (IV Unit)). The generator capacity is 100 MVA.
