It is a Steam Turbine power plant that is used for Baseload. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is heavy fuel oil. In case of shortage of heavy fuel oil the plant can also run on Crude Oil.

Mitsubishi Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the Oil fired project. The company provided 8 units of Tandem Compound 2-Cylinders, Double Flow Exhaust Single Reheat, Regeneration & Condensing turbines300MW nameplate capacity.
