Description

Enbridge and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51% and 49% respectively.

Sarnia Solar Farm is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 973,000 square meters.

The project generates 120,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 14,500 households.

Development status

The project got commissioned in December 2009.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Ontario Power Authority under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.

First Solar was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

First Solar was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the Sarnia Solar Farm (Sarnia Solar Farm Phase - 1). The company supplied modules with rated capacity of 75W.
