The project is developed and owned by Natsionalna Elektricheska Kompania.

Sestrimo is a run-of-river project. The gross head of the project is 539m. Sestrimo (Sestrimo Rehab Unit) underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2022.Sestrimo (Sestrimo Rehabilated Unit) underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2019. The project generated 229.5 GWh of electricity.

The Sestrimo (Sestrimo Rehabilated Unit) has 1 electric generator installed at the site. The generator capacity is 145 MVA.

Contractors involved

Litostroj Engineering was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The project consists of 2 units of Pelton turbines, each with 120MW nameplate capacity.

IHB Electric supplied 1 electric generator for the Sestrimo (Sestrimo Rehab Unit). The generator capacity is 145 MVA.
