Description

The project is developed and owned by NHPC.

Sewa is a run-of-river with pondage project. The gross head and net head of the project are 599m and 560m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 1 in number. The penstock length is 826.06m. The penstock diameter is 2.4m. The project generated 533.52 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $146.094m.

Bharat Heavy Electricals was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of pelton turbines, each with 40MW nameplate capacity.
