Description
The project was developed by Ruwais Power. Abu Dhabi National Energy, Engie, Marubeni and Osaka Gas are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 60%, 20%, 10% and 10% respectively.
It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Fuel Oil.
Development status
The project got commissioned in October 2011.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Emirates Water and Electricity under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years. The contracted capacity is 1,510MW.
