Description

The project was developed by Manawa Energy and Wind Prospect Developments. First State Super Fund, Palisade Investment Partners and Tilt Renewables are currently owning the project.

The project generates 1,232GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 200,000 households, offsetting 600,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The Snowtown (Snowtown II A), has 80m high towers.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the Snowtown (Snowtown I A) is sold to Origin Energy under a power purchase agreement.

The power generated from the Snowtown (Snowtown I B) is sold to Origin Energy under a power purchase agreement.

The power generated from the Snowtown (Snowtown II A) is sold to Origin Energy under a power purchase agreement with a contracted capacity is 69MW.

The power generated from the Snowtown (Snowtown II B) is sold to Origin Energy under a power purchase agreement with a contracted capacity is 201MW.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the Snowtown (Snowtown II A) project. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the Snowtown (Snowtown II B) project. Suzlon Energy Australia was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the Snowtown (Snowtown I A) project. Suzlon Energy Australia was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the Snowtown (Snowtown I B) project.

Snowtown (Snowtown I A) is equipped with Suzlon Energy S88-2.1 MW turbines. The phase consists of 47 turbines with 2.1MW nameplate capacity.

Snowtown (Snowtown I B) is equipped with Suzlon Energy S95-2.1 MW turbine. The phase consists of 1 turbine with 2.1MW nameplate capacity.

Snowtown (Snowtown II A) is equipped with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SWT-3.0-101 turbines. The phase consists of 10 turbines with 3MW nameplate capacity.

Snowtown (Snowtown II B) is equipped with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SWT-3.0 -108 turbines. The phase consists of 80 turbines with 3MW nameplate capacity.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Suzlon Energy have provided O&M services for the project.

The Snowtown (Snowtown I A), consists of Tubular Steel towers supplied by Suzlon Energy. These towers are around 80m high.
